Jeddah Residences
Working with interior design students in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, an affordable residential complex was developed. This studio emphasized the use of program, as well as collaboration and working in an unfamiliar culture. Included in the program were 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments, as well as townhomes. Given the location, all project work was done in metric units.
This studio also focused on the development of hand drawing techniques and craft. Drawing boards were done in a “shaky hand” style in an effort to be more approachable and human, in contrast to the hard, sterile lines generated by CAD programs.
